چکیده
Hybrid free-space optical (FSO) and millimeter wave (mmWave) systems have been proposed as an efficient solution to improve spectral efficiency maintain link reliability. The comparable supported data rate the complementary characteristics in different weather conditions of both links, i.e., FSO mmWave) attracted research efforts towards analyzing performance aspects hybrid FSO-mmWave systems. Following this direction, article, physical-layer security analysis dual-hop is addressed. In considered system, mmWave links are simultaneously used carry at each hop, while eavesdropper assumed present wiretap either one or links. includes building a mathematical framework derive secrecy metrics, such average capacity, outage probability effective throughput expressions. Obtained analytical results verified using Monte Carlo simulations where exact matching achieved. Moreover, presented include investigation impact operational parameters on overall performance.

Performance Analysis of Dual Hop MIMO Mixed FSO/RF Systems
This paper presents the performance analysis results for dual hop MIMO mixed free space optical/radio frequency (FSO/RF) systems. The FSO system has been modeled by the Gamma-Gamma fading distribution under the intensity modulation with direct detection (IM/DD). The RF link experiences Nakagami-m fading. The FSO link utilizes equal gain combiner (EGC) and MRC has been used in the RF link. The e...

Novel exact closed-form results for the end-to-end performance analysis of dual-hop free-space optical (FSO) fixed-gain relaying systems under heterodyne detection as well as intensity modulation with direct detection techniques in the presence of atmospheric turbulence as well as pointing errors are presented. By using dual-hop FSO relaying, we demonstrate a better system performance relative ...
متن کاملPhysical Layer Security Issues
Conventional wired networks are subject to being tapped by a variety of means, whether copper or fiber connections are used. In addition, methods of network snooping exist that make such eavesdropping minimally invasive, but no less significant. Wireless networking has additional characteristics that also decrease physical network security. As new technologies emerge, the potential for loss of ...
متن کاملWireless Physical Layer Security
Security in wireless networks has traditionally been considered to be an issue to be addressed separately from the physical radio transmission aspects of wireless systems. However, with the emergence of new networking architectures that are not amenable to traditional methods of secure communication such as data encryption, there has been an increase in interest in the potential of the physical...
متن کاملPhysical layer security for multi-user MIMO systems
T his thesis studies physical layer security for multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless systems. Due to the broadcast nature of the physical medium, wireless multi-user communications are very susceptible to eavesdropping, and it is critical to protect the transmitted information. Security of wireless communications has traditionally been achieved at the network layer with cr...
